1Contact support#
Write to us at support@deesput.com. To help us answer faster, please include:
- your deesput username;
- your iPhone model and iOS version;
- what you were doing, and what happened;
- screenshots or a screen recording, if you can.
We read every message and reply as soon as we can. You can write to us in English or Romanian.
For legal matters, such as reporting illegal content, a copyright or trademark complaint, a request about your personal data, or asking us to review a moderation decision, write to legal@deesput.com instead.
deesput is not an emergency service. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 112 or your local emergency number.
2Getting started#
- deesput is for people aged 16 and over.
- Create an account with your email address or with Sign in with Apple. On the welcome screen, tick the checkbox to accept our terms first. The sign-in buttons work once it is ticked.
- If you sign up with your email address, we send you a code to confirm it. If it doesn’t arrive within a few minutes, check your spam or junk folder.
- Choose your username carefully: it is permanent and cannot be changed. Your display name, profile picture and banner can be changed at any time in your Profile.
- Choose the topics you prefer and the ones you want to exclude. Your feeds follow those choices, and you can change them at any time.
3Your account and password#
3.1Forgot your password
On the sign-in screen, tap Forgot password? and enter your email address. We email you a code. Enter it in the app and choose a new password. If the email doesn’t arrive, check your spam or junk folder.
3.2Signed up with Apple
If you created your account with Sign in with Apple, keep signing in with Apple. There is no separate deesput password for that account.
3.3Someone else used your account
Change your password straight away, then write to us at support@deesput.com from the email address linked to your account.
4Plans and subscriptions#
deesput is free. The Essential, Plus and Premium plans add features, and are sold and billed by Apple, monthly or yearly.
- Manage or cancel your plan in the app from My Wallet → Manage Subscription, or on your iPhone in Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
- A subscription renews automatically. To stop the next renewal, cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You keep your plan until the end of the period you have paid for.
- Moving to a higher plan takes effect immediately. Moving to a lower plan, or between monthly and yearly billing, takes effect at your next renewal date.
- Deleting the app or your account does not cancel a subscription. Only you can cancel it, in your Apple account.
The full rules are in the Terms of Service.
5Purchases, Restore Purchase and refunds#
5.1One-time purchases
Topic slots, business identity slots, ads and boosts are one-time purchases, also sold and billed by Apple.
5.2Restore Purchase
If you change phone or reinstall the app, sign in to the same deesput account and the same Apple account, open the Marketplace and tap Restore Purchase at the bottom.
5.3A purchase didn’t show up
- Wait a minute, then close and reopen the app.
- Tap Restore Purchase at the bottom of the Marketplace.
- If it is still missing, write to support@deesput.com with the date of the purchase and the order ID from Apple’s receipt email.
5.4Refunds
Apple processes every payment, so refunds are handled by Apple. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot issue refunds ourselves, and we never see your payment details.
6Deleting your account#
Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account and type DELETE to confirm. Deletion is immediate and permanent, and it cannot be undone.
- Cancel any Apple subscription first, because deleting your account does not cancel it.
- Your profile, posts, MicroVideos and other content are deleted, as described in our Privacy Policy. Content that has been reported is kept for up to 12 months, and longer while a legal case about it is open.
- Your username stays reserved, so that no one else can take it, but it is no longer linked to you.
7Reporting, blocking and safety#
- Report posts, MicroVideos, profiles and business identities from the … menu, and a suspicious link from the window that appears when you tap it. We do not tell the person you reported who reported them.
- Block any person or business identity from the … menu or from their profile. They can no longer message you, invite you or interact with you, and you no longer see their content in your feeds.
- Exclude topics you don’t want to see, and your feeds stop showing them.
- To report illegal content, including if you don’t have an account, write to legal@deesput.com.
- If you believe a child is at risk, or someone is in immediate danger, call 112 first, then report it to us.
What is and isn’t allowed is explained in our Community Guidelines.
8Chat#
- Chats are private, one-to-one conversations. Messages are stored encrypted on our servers.
- Files sent in chat are temporary. Images, videos and documents are kept for 6 hours on the Free plan, 12 hours on Essential, 18 hours on Plus and 24 hours on Premium, based on the sender’s plan. Save anything you want to keep.
9Links#
9.1Titles, descriptions and captions
On this page, these words mean:
- Title means the short name you give your content when you create it. It is the Title field of a post or a MicroVideo, the Event Title field of an event, and the Campaign Name field of an ad.
- Description means the longer text you write under the title of a post or a MicroVideo, to say what it is about.
- Caption means the text of an ad, written in its Caption field. For an ad, the caption does the job that the description does for a post or a MicroVideo.
- Comments and chat messages are neither titles nor descriptions.
9.2Opening a link
You can open links in chats, in comments, in the descriptions of posts and MicroVideos, in the captions of ads and on the website of a business identity. Links in events cannot be opened. When you tap one, deesput first shows you the address of the website it leads to. If you trust it, open it, and it opens in your phone’s own browser, outside deesput. If you don’t, you can ignore it, report it, or turn links off from the same window.
9.3Links don’t open
Links may be turned off. Go to Settings → Content Setup → Web Links and turn on Open web links. While links are off, they show as plain text and can’t be opened.
9.4Can’t add a link to a title or topic name
Links and web addresses are not allowed in titles or in topic names, including addresses with the dot spelled out or replaced. If you type one, a note appears under the field. Put your link in the description of your post or MicroVideo, or in the caption of your ad, instead.
9.5Reporting a suspicious link
Tap the link, tick Report this link in the window that appears, and confirm. The link does not open, and you can then send us your report.
10Notifications#
To turn notifications on or off, open your iPhone’s Settings → Notifications → deesput. If you don’t get notifications, check that they are allowed there and that Focus or Do Not Disturb is not on.
11Something not working?#
- Update deesput to the latest version from the App Store.
- Check your internet connection.
- Close the app completely and open it again.
- Sign out in Settings → Account → Logout, then sign in again.
- Still not working? Write to support@deesput.com with the details listed under Contact support.
